Dermal filler can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Longevity depends on a number of factors such as age, exercise, and area treated.

Filler is hyaluronic acid which is a substance that naturally exists in the body and provides suppleness and moisture to skin. It decreases as we age causing wrinkles and smile lines to become apparent. When you receive a treatment  hyaluronic acid is used to add volume back into the skin where needed. This will restore lost volume to smooth wrinkles or add fullness to cheeks and lips.

Results are usually immediate but take about 2-3 weeks for the body to adjust and heal the possible bruising and swelling that can occur. The fillers with time will also draw in water to create a more plump and youthful appearance.

Due to a small needle being injected into the skin, there is a possibility of bruising at the injection site. As skilled injectors, we try our best to avoid this. Some tips to prevent bruising include avoiding blood thinners for one week (only if cleared by your physician such as aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, etc.), avoid alcohol 2-3 days, avoid exercising the day of and take arnica tablets one week before your appointment.
